Hello All,

This year the AGM and the ride leaders meetings were combined, with the ride leaders meeting happening first. We met at the Old Marina restaurant on the icy shores of Puslinch Lake. It turned out to be a fine place for the events, both of which were well attended.

The ride leaders put together most of the schedule very quickly.

The AGM re-elected Bill Hyde as Treasurer and elected Ed Hummel as Director of Touring, both by acclamation.

The Board, at a brief meeting immediately following the AGM, appointed Lin Mackrael as VP Marketing and Karen Lemieux as Secretary.

Your governing Board now looks like this:

VP Admin: Preston Gurd
VP Marketing: Lin Mackrael
Treasurer: Bill Hyde
Secretary: Karen Lemieux
Director of Touring: Ed Hummel

The position of President is vacant. I am Acting President. I would really like it if someone would apply to be President, which, after all, mainly requires scheduling meetings and then presiding over them. Or even applying to be a Director at Large, which would allow you to ease in to Board work :-).

Please feel free to contact me, if you are interested,  by email to Or if you have any questions about this post.

Hello All,

If you were a member of GCBT in 2013, then please consider attending our 2013 Annual General Meeting, which will take place at 2p.m. in the Alf Hales Committee Room of the Puslinch Community Centre in Aberfoyle.

The address of the centre is 23 Brock Road South, Aberfoyle, ON N0B 2C0. Map ataps/Yb3Hf.

Here's a description of the room:

Here are directions:

The principal business of the meeting will be to present reports from each Board member, including our annual financial statements.

Also, there are three Board positions to be filled by election, namely that of VP Administration, Secretary, and President. These positions are open to anyone who paid the yearly club membership fee in 2013.

The invitation, agenda, and proxy form for the meeting are in the "Files" section of the web site,  in the file called "2013 AGM Mailing.pdf".

James, our esteemed Director of Touring, tells me that he expects to have bundles of the 2014 brochures available for pick up at the meeting so you can take some to your favourite bike shop for display.

The meeting should last about an hour and a half.

I hope to see you there!
